Rotary Near Lapeer

Looking for a Rotary Club near Lapeer?

The Imlay City Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon, about 15 minutes east of Lapeer — and plenty of our members already make the drive.

Fifteen Minutes East on I-69

Lapeer is the county seat and the largest city in Lapeer County, so if you're searching for a Rotary club nearby, you have every reason to expect one close to home. For many Lapeer residents, that club is the Imlay City Rotary Club — chartered in 1950 and meeting roughly 11 miles to the east, about 15 minutes away via I-69 or M-21.

We've never been an Imlay-City-only club. Our thirty-plus members live and work across the county — Lapeer, Attica, Dryden, Almont, and beyond — and our service follows them. When we say we serve Lapeer County, we mean the whole county.

The easiest way to find out whether Rotary fits your life is to come see it. We meet every Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the Third & Main Social Club, 244 E 3rd Street, Imlay City, MI 48444. Visit as a guest — no commitment, no RSVP required, and your first lunch is free. If you'd rather talk to someone first, call (810) 614-0555.

Where Your Hour a Week Goes

Everything the club raises stays close to home or supports Rotary International's flagship causes. Each year we award more than $15,000 in scholarships to graduating Imlay City High School seniors, serve over a thousand community meals, and help maintain Rotary Park on E 1st Street — a green space families from across the county actually use.

Our signature fundraiser, Woods-N-Water, takes over the Eastern Michigan State Fairgrounds every September and raises more than $25,000 for local projects. We also sponsor free swimming at the community pool during Summer Fest weekend and contribute to Rotary's global campaign to end polio.

What Membership Involves

Membership is built around one lunch hour a week. The first two Wednesdays of each month feature guest speakers, the third is our business meeting, and the fourth is purely social. Annual dues run about $200, weekly lunch is $15, and most members give two to four volunteer hours a month beyond the meetings — as your schedule allows, never as a quota.

You don't need to own a business or hold a title. Teachers, retirees, tradespeople, and healthcare workers all sit at our table. The only requirement is caring about this corner of Michigan. Curious what's coming up? Check our events calendar.
